Just before midnight on Saturday, July 19, 1952, something strange happened at Washington National Airport. Air traffic controller Edward Nugent noticed seven unusual objects on his radar. They were far from any normal flight paths. He jokingly mentioned to his supervisor that it looked like a "fleet of flying saucers." At the same time, two other controllers saw a bright light in the sky that suddenly shot away at an incredible speed.
Nearby, at Andrews Air Force Base, radar operators were also tracking these strange objects. At first, they moved slowly in a group, but suddenly they sped up to over 7,000 miles per hour! This was much faster than any known plane could fly. One controller at Andrews even saw what looked like an "orange ball of fire" zipping across the sky. A commercial pilot flying in the area also reported seeing six bright lights speeding by like shooting stars.

Things got serious when the radar operators saw these objects flying past important buildings like the White House and the Capitol. Worried, they sent out two F-94 interceptor jets to check it out. However, whenever the jets got close, the objects disappeared. This strange game continued all night, and by dawn on July 20, the lights were gone, leaving many questions unanswered.
Edward J. Ruppelt was in charge of investigating UFO sightings for the Air Force’s Project Blue Book. He felt frustrated when he heard about these strange occurrences days later while flying into Washington, D.C. He wanted to gather information and talk to the people who saw the objects, but the Air Force wouldn’t help him get there. They refused to give him a ride or even money for a taxi. So, Ruppelt had to go back to his office in Ohio without any useful information, wondering what he could have found out if he had been allowed to investigate.
Soon after, mysterious objects appeared in the sky over Washington, D.C. again. A reporter called Ruppelt with the news, and he quickly contacted his colleagues at the airport. To his surprise, the same strange radar signals were back. The radar operators thought it might just be a weather issue, but Ruppelt’s team believed these signals showed real, solid objects, not just mirages caused by the weather.
To be safe, the Air Force sent out two F-94 jets again. The jets raced to where the radar targeted the strange objects, but each time they got close, the blips would go away. One brave pilot even saw a bright light far away and chased it, but the light was much faster, and he had to give up. These strange events left Ruppelt and the Air Force puzzled and looking for answers that were hard to find.
Colossians 1:16
For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
