Miracle Mindset

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego did not develop their convictions when they were thrown into the fiery furnace; they had already made their decision years earlier about whom they would serve. When King Nebuchadnezzar commanded them to bow, their response demonstrated a mature faith: they believed that God was able to deliver them, but even if He did not, they would still serve Him.

 From a Sermon by Pastor Richie Thornton The first thing I want you to see in this passage this morning is that this woman struggled with this issue of blood for 12 years. 12 years is a long time! The number 12 has a significant meaning in the Bible… The number 12 typically means perfection or authority, and often the number 12 is used in a context of government… For instance, we see the 12 disciples; the 12 tribes of Israel; 12 spies who went to scout the Promised Land… In Revelation we read about the New Jerusalem; we see the number 12 repeatedly: 12 gates, 12 angels, 12 foundations…all this points to perfection, ultimately coming under God’s authority and under God’s government.

Imagine you’ve just discovered the best sandwich shop in town. You can’t help but tell your friends about it! Sharing your excitement about a yummy sandwich is a lot like sharing the Good News of the Gospel: it’s all about spreading joy and great news to others. Everyone has something to say, and in this case, what we have to share is truly life-altering.

There is a real sense of purpose in spreading all of those things around. As a Christian, are you required to be perfect? No, of course not. It also doesn't give you an excuse to indulge in unhealthy behavior either. How do you get the balance right? Life will throw you curve balls, place hurdles and pitfalls in your path. There is a way to navigate around and over these issues that can strengthen you and ultimately lead you to a purpose for your life that will be better than you could ever imagine!  

Is Your Dream Aligned with God’s Purpose? In the journey of life, we often find ourselves at a crossroads, grappling with the dreams we harbor within our hearts. Have you ever paused to question if your dreams are truly in alignment with God’s purpose for you? It’s a profound inquiry that can define the trajectory of your life. Are you chasing your own aspirations, or are you pursuing the divine plan that God has uniquely crafted for you? This contemplation can evoke both excitement and fear. The idea that God has a specific design for each of us can be both invigorating and daunting.  

The Journey of Faith: Embracing Challenges and Growing in Spiritual Maturity Taking that first step into an act of faith can often feel overwhelming, especially when it comes to something like tithing. For many, the idea of giving away 10% of their income can stir up feelings of reluctance and fear. I was one of those individuals, apprehensive and uncertain about the process. Yet, it was precisely this struggle that led me to a deeper understanding of faith and dependence on God.  

  Facing Impossible Odds: Trusting in God's Strength Have you ever found yourself in a situation that felt overwhelming, where the challenges seemed insurmountable? It's one of those moments when you're backed against the wall, wondering if there's a way out at all. Yet, for those who believe, even the most daunting circumstances are not too big for God to handle. In fact, it's often in these moments of difficulty that we learn to rely not on our own strength but on His divine power.

The Principles and Applications of the Armor of God The concept of the Armor of God, as presented in Ephesians 6:10-18, serves as a profound metaphor for spiritual strength and resilience. The Apostle Paul encodes a powerful message regarding the battles Christians face—not against humans but against the spiritual forces of evil. Understanding the principles behind this scripture can lead to practical applications in daily life.

In times of uncertainty and struggle, many of us seek something to hold onto—a foundation to give us hope for the future. It is in these moments that understanding the true nature of faith can provide the comfort and strength we desperately need. What is Faith? At its core, faith is the act of believing in something that may not yet be evident to us. It is trusting that what we hope for will come to pass, even when our current circumstances may seem bleak. The essence of faith lies in its substance; it brings stability into our lives and shapes our expectations. This is beautifully captured in the biblical definition of faith found in Hebrews 11:1, which reminds us that faith is the assurance of things hoped for and the conviction of things not seen. Life is a journey marked by various seasons, each with its unique challenges and blessings. There are times when we feel an intense fire within us, fueling our passions and driving us forward. Conversely, there are moments when we feel frozen, grappling with uncertainty and doubt. Navigating the peaks and valleys of our existence can be daunting, but faith is the key that unlocks our path . It acts as the enduring glue that binds our experiences together, even during times when we feel disoriented.
