Image
You have a calling. Everyone is important and has a purpose. When God calls us, we must answer correctly. He will equip us with what we need to use our gifts. No one person is more than the other. God is still calling and using gifts. We only need to answer the call.

Why Don't Christians Share The Truth About Jesus With Others?

Image
As a Christian I am often times amazed at how reluctant we are to share the good news about Christ's salvation with others. We live in a world desperate for the message we could share, but we are reluctant to speak it. The world needs an answer, heck every living person needs the answer to a fulfilling, peaceful and loving life and we have it. Why don't we shout it from the rooftops? I think that you will find this statistic interesting: In 1993, 89% of Christians who had shared their faith agreed this is a responsibility of every Christian. Today, just 64% say so—a 25-point drop. Moreover I find the results of this  Barna study to be very informative: In 1993, Barna partnered with Lutheran Hour Ministries to research reasons why people did and did not engage in intentional outreach. A lot has changed since that initial study, so 25 years later we asked follow-up questions to see if talk of faith has become labored in a culture that is more digital, secular and contested than...

Remembering "Cross Carrying Chuck" A True American Hero

Image
Written By: Ken Hulsey At times like this I am reminded of the story of Chuck Johnson (Cross-Carrier Chuck) who in 1987 began a life-long journey to tell people about Jesus. After being baptized in San Jose, he made the decision to devote his life to service of the Lord by giving up all of his possessions and walking the roads and highways of this country carrying an eight foot replica of the cross. He spends everyday of his life walking and telling people about Jesus. He has no job, no money, yet the Lord provides for him. He is clothed, fed and sleeps most nights in hotels. How is this possible? True to His word God provides. I woke up this morning with God urging me to share his story. I opened up my computer and plugged his name into Google to get some background information and that's when I learned  he had died five years ago of a heart attack in South Carolina. I was shocked. I first heard about Chuck in the book "Weird U.S. The ODDyssey Continues" (by Mark Mo...
