 Written by Ken Hulsey After taking a month off, I decided that it was time to resurrect one of my most popular features, entitled Retro Cartoon Rewind. As you can probably guess, this series features many of the classic cartoons that were once shown almost exclusively on network television between 6 and 12 in the morning on Saturdays. Most of us from that generation woke up with eager anticipation, knowing that we were about to enjoy several hours of programming aimed solely for kids. For many, these are some of our most treasured memories.

 Iron Hand Jones - How Yogi Bear Outsmarts the Tough New Ranger in Jellystone Written By Ken Hulsey Yogi and his buddy Boo Boo are having a tough time swiping picnic baskets with Ranger Smith on patrol. When Jones gets a bit too rough with our lovable bear, Yogi hatches a plan to fake his own demise and go incognito!

 For this installment of Retro Cartoon Rewind, I decided to feature a selection of my favorite cartoon shorts featuring Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck. If you’re like me, you probably grew up watching these cartoons, and they undoubtedly influenced your childhood. I consider myself to be an equal blend of the Wascally Wabbit and the Screwball Duck, both mentally and emotionally, which probably explains a lot of things—just ask my friends and relatives! Aside from the psychiatrist bills, these wonderful cartoons still make me laugh out loud and bring back so many fond memories.

 In the realm of animated television, few series evoke as much nostalgia and intrigue as *Return to the Planet of the Apes*. Created by the dynamic duo of DePatie-Freleng Enterprises and 20th Century Fox Television, this series seamlessly blends adventure and social commentary, drawing inspiration from Pierre Boulle's seminal novel. Similarly, *Star Trek: The Animated Series* reignited the fervor of the beloved franchise after its live-action run, proving that the love for Captain Kirk and the crew could transcend mediums, especially after NBC's late recognition of its popularity among young adults. On a different note, *Valley of the Dinosaurs* captured imaginations in the '70s, taking audiences on a thrilling journey with the Butler family. With its 30-minute episodes, it became a cherished part of childhood for many, even after its original CBS run ended. I find it really interesting how our minds work. Recently, I spent some time exploring cartoons from the early 1970s for this Retro Saturday Morning series, and I was reminded of so many shows I used to watch as a kid. What really strikes me is how quickly our memories and feelings can come back when we see a familiar image or hear a specific sound. Just last week, I looked at a list of Saturday morning cartoons from 1974, and suddenly I remembered watching those shows when I lived in Vernon, Texas . I could picture the TV, my favorite chair, and the room where I enjoyed all those cartoons. It brought back such happy memories!

 If you grew up in the 1970s, you probably have great memories of waking up early on Saturday mornings, watching classic cartoons while enjoying a bowl of Cap'n Crunch. Join me as we take a trip down memory lane and see how many of these beloved cartoons you can recall! Captain Caveman and the Teen Angels (ABC)(1977 - 80) "Captain Caveman and the Teen Angels follows the exciting mystery-solving escapades of the Teen Angels—Brenda, Dee Dee, and Taffy—alongside their prehistoric friend, Captain Caveman (or Cavey). The girls discovered him frozen in a block of ice! This fun series is a playful nod to Charlie's Angels and draws inspiration from other beloved Hanna-Barbera shows like Scooby-Doo and Josie and the Pussycats. Captain Caveman boasts super-strength, an array of handy tools hidden in his hair, and a flying club that helps him tackle crime. His signature battle cry, "Captain CAAAAAVEMAAAAAAANNNN!" is unforgettable, thanks to the iconic voice of Mel Blanc.
