Miracle Mindset

 Written By Ken Hulsey This past weekend, my wife and I decided to explore Lufkin, a charming city in eastern Texas. We arrived around noon, so naturally, our first stop was for food. We noticed the usual fast-food chains everywhere, and just as we were about to settle for a local Whataburger, I spotted a retro drive-in across the street. Why choose something we could have anytime when we had the chance to enjoy some of the local flavors?

 In my eight years here in Louisiana, I have learned many things about life. Moving from a metropolis like Los Angeles to a small central Louisiana farming town has taught me to enjoy the simpler things in life.

This past weekend, Terri and I were on the road from Alexandria to West Monroe, so we decided to stop at one of our favorite roadside spots, the Burger Barn in Olla, Louisiana.

For a truly authentic Los Angeles fast food experience, it's hard to beat Tommy's. The formula is simple: take a cheeseburger, hot dog, fries, or just about anything, and smother it in their delicious chili. Sure, it can get a little messy, but it's so worth it! - Ken Hulsey
