Just a Thought: Not My Will, But Thine | Pastor Steve Smothermon | Legacy Church

Not My Will, But Thine

When someone surrenders to someone or something, it means they have ceased resisting an enemy or opponent and have submitted to their authority. That is what God requires of us.

Above all:

When we truly surrender to God, we are surrendering our instinctual interests, which can be selfish and destructive by nature. Surrendering ourselves to God is to pursue truth and righteousness above all else. This means to pursue His word (the Bible) and put it first in our lives. It means to put the word of God into practice in our lives — purposing to do what it teaches above all else — putting His thoughts, His ways of thinking and doing things, above all else.

Every aspect:

In order to surrender our lives to God, we must quit resisting Him and submit every aspect of our lives to Him. Once we surrender our lives to Him, that’s when we will begin to experience His help and His blessings in our lives. So, I encourage you to surrender every area of your life to Him.

Don’t wait:

Examine your life today, and if there is an area you have not surrendered to Him, do it today. Don’t wait another moment. It’s not surrender unless you have unconditionally surrendered everything to His will. Stop resisting God and His word in your life.

See that the Lord is good!

Just a thought,

Pastor Steve Smothermon

Mysterious Monsters in the Bayou: Eyewitness Accounts of Bigfoot Lurking in Central Louisiana

Image
Written by Ken Hulsey. Though I couldn't find an account of a Bigfoot sighting in the town of Lecompte, the big hairy fella has definitely been lurking nearby. Indian Creek: 15-minute drive from Lecompte: BIGFOOT- 2 Encounters Made a Believer of Pineville Man By Andrew Griffin The Town Talk They are hairy, tall, and usually smell bad. They are elusive and mysterious and are known by different names throughout the world-Yeti and Yowie, Sasquatch and Skunk Ape. In the United States, these enigmatic primates are primarily known as Bigfoot. Some people believe in Bigfoot creatures, and some do not. Scott Kessler of Pineville is a believer. Since he was a young boy growing up in rural Rapides Parish, Kessler has had an obsessive fascination with Bigfoot, mainly because he says he has had two encounters with the hulking ape-like beasts. His first encounter with a Bigfoot was in the mid-1970's. He was camping with his family near Woodworth in the Indian Creek area. Late one nig...

A Battle for Survival in the Amazon: The Gill-Man Rises from the Depths in 'Creature From The Black Lagoon'!

Image
Written By: Ken Hulsey The classic movie monster Creature from the Black Lagoon, developed by Universal Pictures, was the last in a long line of iconic horror characters. By the 1950s, most studios had shifted their focus from horror to science fiction films. Universal followed this trend, with Creature from the Black Lagoon arriving soon after the popular It Came from Outer Space, both starring Richard Carlson in his signature role as the heroic scientist. This was a departure from the typical portrayal of scientists as villainous or misguided. It was a logical move for Universal to blend their established horror brand with the emerging science fiction genre, resulting in the creation of Creature from the Black Lagoon.

Star Wars: Mark Hamill - Hollywood Foreign Press Association Interview

Mark Hamill Talks About His Experience Making Star Wars From a press conference of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association – By Yani Begakus Mark Hamill – With all the merchandising that’s going on, I really wish they would publish the original screenplay for STAR WARS. It is so thick with ideas – more descriptions and more of everything than was in the movie. There just wasn’t time to get it all in. Yes, it is very simple, and people say there is no storyline – just bad guys chasing you because you have something they want. On one level, that’s true; on another level…you know, even though I am ostensibly the hero, George Lucas has given me a menagerie of supporting creatures – animal, vegetable, and mineral – and everybody’s working together. Men working with machines, working with rodents, working with whatever…I think it’s terrific.

Tales of the Unkown: The Chilling Mystery of the Buena Park Monster

Image
Written By Ken Hulsey. For over a decade, I have been writing about sightings of Bigfoot-like creatures in and around Southern California. As a general rule, these encounters have taken place in rural, mountainous, and even desert areas. Many of them occurred in secluded locations, while others surprisingly happened in populated areas adjacent to those mountains, forests, and deserts. It seems that Bigfoot wanders into neighborhoods from time to time, probably in search of food.
