You Are Not Alone: Embracing Love in Times of Struggle | Random Ramblings By Tina Martin

Every so often, a remarkable soul, guided by a higher purpose, bravely steps beyond their comfort zone to offer a heartfelt embrace and the reassuring message: “I see you, it’s tough right now, but know that you are not alone in this.” In moments of sadness, it is love that reaches out and says, “You are supported.”

I find gratitude in each day I wake up and breathe; still, this week has left me feeling a bit disheveled, bearing the weight of challenges, even with something amusing like frozen crab meat on my head! Amidst the chaos, let's strive to find our focus and embrace positivity. It’s essential to adjust our inner dialogue and uplift both ourselves and those around us.

Navigating adulthood can often feel overwhelming, so let’s sprinkle in joy and laughter wherever we can. Here we are, aboard the Struggle Bus, packed full this week, yet we continue on—slow and steady, waving and smiling as we journey together. Remember, it’s important to keep moving forward, no matter the pace. Just move ahead, dear friend, and prioritize safety and kindness along the way.

On this delightful day, I urge you to take a moment to nourish your soul. Clear your thoughts, stabilize your spirit, and watch the mental fog lift. Play the melodies that resonate deeply within you and sing along as if your spirit is being healed by every note.

Life will present us with mornings that challenge our resolve, times when we must dig deep through discomfort, fatigue, and those moments of simply not wanting to carry on. It’s in these trying times that we must discover or remind ourselves of the source of our strength. Seek it out and channel that energy! Feel free to pause, to shed tears, to vent your frustrations, but under no circumstances should you give in to despair.

We often hear the sage advice to “do your best” and “make the most of what you have.” These words carry wisdom, yet I also encourage you, every now and then, to push past the boundaries of what feels safe. Venture off the well-trodden path, try something unfamiliar, and surprise yourself with your own power and resilience. Embrace the growth opportunities that lie just outside your comfort zone.

Lost But Not Alone: A Journey Through Pain That Led Me Back to God

Written by Ken Hulsey  A relationship with God can be an amazing journey filled with incredible experiences. However, it can also involve hardships and trials meant to foster spiritual growth. I took the image above back in 2011, and it’s hard to believe that it's been 15 years since then. I snapped it with my phone while crossing over the 405 Freeway in Irvine on my journey home from work. At that time, I was working the late shift at a nearby environmental laboratory and didn’t have a car, so I walked everywhere I needed to go.

Railroading in the South: Stunning Images from Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas | Railfan Digest

Story and Photos by Ken Hulsey I've been diligently capturing railroad images across the South over the past three months. My work has taken me through Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas, and whenever I spot a train, I make it a point to pull over and get a shot. This is a practice I used to do regularly back in my California days, which has resulted in a sizable collection of images from that region.

Unpacking the Alarming Rise of Ignorance in the Age of Information | The Urgent Need for Intellectual Revival

Can We Educate Ourselves Out of This Chaos? Written By Ken Hulsey Lately, I've been questioning the collective intelligence of the human race. It seems like I'm bombarded daily with an endless parade of stupidity. I don't mean to imply that I'm the brightest person around - far from it. I consider myself above average in intelligence, but my recent conversations have led me to believe that I'm an intellectual compared to most people.

Written By Ken Hulsey On April 10th and 11th, 1979, a confirmed 59 tornadoes ripped through Northern Texas, Oklahoma, and several nearby states. This mass outbreak of deadly storms was officially named the Red River Valley Tornado Outbreak, but for all who survived, it was known as "Terrible Tuesday." My family moved from Whittier, California , to the farming community of Vernon, Texas , in the summer of 1974. Stuck in the Desert: A Three-Hour Wait That Transformed My Spiritual Journey

Photo and Story by Ken Hulsey My spiritual journey took me from the lush and beautiful California coast to the desert region of the state. Initially, I struggled to adjust to life there. The landscape was stark, filled with brush, rocks, and miles of sand—an entirely different scene from the scenic vistas along the Pacific Ocean. A friend on Facebook once commented on how lucky I was to be in such a beautiful place, and I responded rather negatively. I found it hard to see any beauty in the vast expanse of the California desert.
