Connect and Protect: Why Every Believer Needs the Flock | Journey Church | Pastor James W Greer

In this powerful message, we begin a new series focused on the biblical call to connect and protect. In a culture where digital relationships are replacing real ones and isolation is becoming commonplace, God reminds us that His design for protection and growth happens within the community of believers.

Drawing from 1 Peter, Matthew, Luke, Hebrews, and the words of Jesus Himself, this sermon explores the roles of shepherds and sheep—how pastors are called to feed, lead, and protect —and how believers are safest when connected to the body of Christ. Through a vivid personal illustration and a solid biblical foundation, we are reminded that isolation leads to vulnerability, drifting leads to destruction, and connection brings protection.

The enemy seeks to devour those who are isolated, but Jesus, the Good Shepherd, pursues the one who wanders. This message challenges us to:

- Get under the Great Shepherd.

- Stay connected to the flock.

- Grow in maturity and multiplication.

- Choose biblical truth over cultural noise.

- Move from mere attendance to intentional connection.

God did not design us to survive spiritually alone. Protection is found in connection.

- Pastor James W Greer
