Being the bigger person is a testament to your strength and growth. Remember, sometimes those who may have hurt you are unaware of their actions or may not grasp the depth of your emotions.

Negativity can be a heavy burden; the soul needs to release it. Some days call for us to embrace life with vitality—drink that coffee strong, turn up the music that lifts your spirit, and tackle what needs to be done with an open heart. Life is too precious for hate. I choose to extend love, wish you the best, and encourage healing. 

Every woman deserves to hear that she is beautiful, cherished, and worthy of all the goodness life has to offer. So, in case you haven’t heard it today—let me remind you: you are beautiful, inside and out. Embrace your light and shine brightly!

When my family moved in during the late 1970s, this area was brand new. In fact, these were the only homes located on the furthest north side of the city. Beyond our subdivision, there was nothing but open desert, with dirt roads and a few scattered structures. This area remained undeveloped for quite some time.

 If you grew up in the 1970s, you probably have great memories of waking up early on Saturday mornings, watching classic cartoons while enjoying a bowl of Cap'n Crunch. Join me as we take a trip down memory lane and see how many of these beloved cartoons you can recall! Captain Caveman and the Teen Angels (ABC)(1977 - 80) "Captain Caveman and the Teen Angels follows the exciting mystery-solving escapades of the Teen Angels—Brenda, Dee Dee, and Taffy—alongside their prehistoric friend, Captain Caveman (or Cavey). The Ouachita is a small railroad that switches cars from a chemical plant south of town and exchanges them with the Union Pacific . The railroad used to operate over former Rock Island Railroad trackage into northern Louisiana through the nearby town of Junction City. In fact, the facilities that the Ouachita now occupy once belonged to the Rock Island.

I, like many others, first became fascinated with the infamous "Fouke Monster" in the 1970s when the film "The Legend of Boggy Creek" was released in theaters and drive-ins across the country. Although I didn't see the movie until it aired as a Saturday afternoon feature on a local TV station in the 1980s, the original trailer had a lasting impact on my young and impressionable mind—it scared the crap out of me. A big, hairy creature reaching through windows to grab young girls (the Fouke Monster doesn't hold a candle to King Kong), girls screaming, guns firing, people chasing the monster, the monster chasing people-all set in what looked like the creepiest place on Earth: Boggy Creek. I hid under my bed until I was ten!

It is so thick with ideas – more descriptions and more of everything than was in the movie. There just wasn’t time to get it all in. Yes, it is very simple, and people say there is no storyline – just bad guys chasing you because you have something they want. On one level, that’s true; on another level…you know, even though I am ostensibly the hero, George Lucas has given me a menagerie of supporting creatures – animal, vegetable, and mineral – and everybody’s working together. Men working with machines, working with rodents, working with whatever…I think it’s terrific.
