Strolling Through Serenity: Discovering the Hidden Beauty of Lecompte at Sunset

One of the things that I really used to love about living in the small farming town of Lecompte was the ability to take quiet walks around town every Sunday evening. I rarely ever encountered a soul on these walks, and it provided me the opportunity to meditate and have a conversation with the Lord while enjoying the beauty of his creation.

On many such walks I would bring my camera along to capture images of the interesting landscape in around Lecompte. On this October evening I had managed to reach the outskirts of town just as the sun was setting. The clouds from a storm system that moved through the area earlier in the day were still lingering around, and they provided some beautiful hues in the sky above this yet unharvested cane field. 

I thought that everyone would enjoy a little glimpse of the beauty that we enjoy here in central Louisiana.

Hardly a day goes by when I don't find myself popping in to pick up something. In fact, I often find myself popping into Walmart for reasons other than shopping. Charlie Kirk Talks About The Future Of America

 I spent a good portion of Wednesday listening to Charlie Kirk's four part sermon/lecture at Legacy Church in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In each episode Kirk talked in depth about his relationship with Jesus and how the modern church needs to shake off the 'separation of church and state' moniker and get involved in our political system.  Kirk used a wonderful combination of science, history and scripture to make the point that the church needs to stop being quiet if this nation is to change it's present political and social course.   Granted, since Kirk's presentation took place in New Mexico, he did spend some time focusing on politics in the state. Are Christians Allowed to Be Sexy?

 From Christianity Today Even as Christian women, with our worth rooted in Christ, we still struggle with beauty to some extent. I see it in my mirror, and I see it when I walk into churches, when I talk to youth groups, and when I scroll through online feeds of sexy selfies. We've probably found ourselves leaning to either extreme; sometimes, we fear our beauty, and other times, we feel like we'll never measure up. "Be careful" was the first message I heard from the church about beauty. Being careful meant dressing modestly and hearing constant reminders of the sexual nature of the male mind. I didn't particularly understand the appeal of following rules, and I enjoyed attention, so I threw off the modesty rules and dressed in a way that caused men to notice me. "Most likely you have one in your family—the extremely loving caring person always looking out for others and helping them in every and any way possible. They usually always have a smile on their faces and will stop what they're doing and help you at the drop of a hat. Everyone always enjoys being in their company and loves the feeling of love and happiness they share with those around them. We love them. We're inspired by them to be more loving ourselves, but too often we forget to give back to these people the love that they've given to us.
