From Fire to Fear to Faith: How Jesus Restores Your Connection | Journey Church | Pastor Darrell Ingram


Have you ever been on fire for God in one season… and felt distant the next? 

This powerful and honest message delves into the realities of spiritual connection, disconnection, and reconnection. Through the life of Peter, we witness how someone can boldly declare Jesus as the Messiah one moment, and then struggle with fear and doubt the next. Peter walked on water, followed Jesus courageously, and expressed his love for Him openly. Yet, under pressure, fear took hold, leading Peter to deny Jesus three times. Although his love for Jesus never vanished, fear ultimately overshadowed his faith.

The encouraging truth is that Jesus never gave up on Peter. Instead of condemning him, Jesus showed up, restored their relationship, and renewed Peter's calling. This same dynamic occurs in our own lives when we spiritually drift. Connection must be actively maintained; when we stray, fear grows louder, passion diminishes, and we often revert to what feels familiar. However, Jesus still seeks us out, asking the same question today: “Do you love me?” 

Reconnection begins with honesty, humility, and taking that first step back toward Him.

Echoes of Transportation History: Unearthing the Forgotten Trolley Bus of Ford Park

Photos and Story by Ken Hulsey Last week, I posted a very popular article about the Dardanelle and Russellville Railroad 2-6-0 Steam Locomotive #10 at Ford Park in Shreveport. Thanks to Brad Driggers of the Abandoned Louisiana group on Facebook, I learned that old Number 10 isn't the only transportation-related relic residing there. Thanks to the directions provided by Brad, I was able to go on an expedition into the remote northwest section of the park where, deep in the tree line, sits the remains of an old Shreveport Railway Trolley Bus. At this time, the old trolley is barely visible, with only the tail end sticking out of the vines. Though I wanted to explore it more thoroughly, I could only manage to climb through the flora enough to access the rear window and stick my camera inside for a few photos. If you grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico , during the 60s, 70s, or 80s, you likely have fond memories of Toys By Roy. The store was easily recognizable thanks to the large rocking horse logo on its front. In 1961, Roy Ater opened his first Toys By Roy in the brand-new Winrock Center Mall, which was marketed as ‘the largest in the Southwest.’ Ater’s toy store quickly became one of the mall's first and most successful retailers. Over the following years, Toys By Roy expanded into a successful franchise with 34 locations across 9 states.

Remembering Terrible Tuesday: The Devastating Red River Valley Tornado Outbreak of 1979

Written By Ken Hulsey On April 10th and 11th, 1979, a confirmed 59 tornadoes ripped through Northern Texas, Oklahoma, and several nearby states. This mass outbreak of deadly storms was officially named the Red River Valley Tornado Outbreak, but for all who survived, it was known as "Terrible Tuesday." My family moved from Whittier, California , to the farming community of Vernon, Texas , in the summer of 1974. While we were familiar with earthquakes, we had no idea of the sheer terror that a tornado could inflict in an instant.
