From Fire to Fear to Faith: How Jesus Restores Your Connection | Journey Church | Pastor Darrell Ingram

Have you ever been on fire for God in one season… and felt distant the next?

This powerful and honest message delves into the realities of spiritual connection, disconnection, and reconnection. Through the life of Peter, we witness how someone can boldly declare Jesus as the Messiah one moment, and then struggle with fear and doubt the next. Peter walked on water, followed Jesus courageously, and expressed his love for Him openly. Yet, under pressure, fear took hold, leading Peter to deny Jesus three times. Although his love for Jesus never vanished, fear ultimately overshadowed his faith.

This same dynamic occurs in our own lives when we spiritually drift. Connection must be actively maintained; when we stray, fear grows louder, passion diminishes, and we often revert to what feels familiar. However, Jesus still seeks us out, asking the same question today: “Do you love me?”

Reconnection begins with honesty, humility, and taking that first step back toward Him.
