Embrace the Impossible: Trusting God in Tough Times

In life, we often face situations that feel impossible to overcome. But here's the good news: God is ready and willing to help you navigate those challenges! As we reflect on Scripture, we find that God invites us to turn to Him, especially when we feel overwhelmed. 

First, we must be honest with ourselves and acknowledge the problems we face. It’s important to realize that hurting people need guidance on how to apply God’s Word to their struggles. When we combine the wisdom found in Scripture with a consistent practice of faith, we open the door to transformation (Romans 12:2). 

Remember, the only One capable of addressing our impossible situations is Jesus. When we turn to God’s Word and believe in its promises, we lay the foundation for true change. But belief is just the first step; we also need to take action. 

Decide what burdens you're ready to place into the hands of Jesus. Just as He took the small offerings of bread and fish and multiplied them (Mark 6:41), He can take our limited resources and turn them into blessings. As we entrust our worries to Him, we should expect Him to work wonders in our lives (Mark 6:42-43; Jeremiah 29:11). 

Let us cultivate a spirit of expectation as we walk in faith. When we believe that God can do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think, we position ourselves for His miraculous touch. Remember, every transformation starts with believing, acting, and expecting! So, approach today with confidence, knowing that you’re not alone in your challenges. God is with you, and with Him, the impossible becomes possible!

Neither of us had ever visited this charming town before, but I had picked up a brochure about it during one of my stops at the Texas Welcome Center in Waskom, which is just west of Shreveport off Interstate 20. California Through My Lens - Sunset Over Route 66 - Cajon Pass

Photos and Story by Ken Hulsey  Many travelers who drive out of Los Angeles and Orange County through the Inland Empire and Cajon Pass to all points east, including Las Vegas, on Interstate 15 don't realize that there are several miles of the old Route 66 that still exist a mere hundred or so yards away.  The old highway that once served as the only road through the pass is now only taken by motorists who want to try and avoid traffic congestion due to accidents or weekend travelers trying to get to Sin City or other desert recreation areas.

During my years in New Mexico and California, I was treated to beautiful sunsets almost every night. When I lived in the California High Desert they sky would turn all shades of oranges, reds, and ambers. Many will try to point out that the amazing colors are probably the result of the ebbing sunlight bouncing off the air pollution from nearby Los Angeles. I'm not going to get into any of that. I just love a pretty sunset, and as you can see, I really enjoy taking pictures of them.

Retro Cartoon Rewind | Silly 70s Sitcom Saturday Morning | Part 2

I find it really interesting how our minds work. Recently, I spent some time exploring cartoons from the early 1970s for this Retro Saturday Morning series, and I was reminded of so many shows I used to watch as a kid. What really strikes me is how quickly our memories and feelings can come back when we see a familiar image or hear a specific sound. Just last week, I looked at a list of Saturday morning cartoons from 1974, and suddenly I remembered watching those shows when I lived in Vernon, Texas . I could picture the TV, my favorite chair, and the room where I enjoyed all those cartoons. It brought back such happy memories!

I was actually searching on Amazon Prime for a new documentary series for both of us to watch since we had just finished watching two really good ones by Ken Burns, Louis & Clark, and The American Buffalo, and the advertising for Spider-Noir ( Watch now on Prime Video ) was the first thing that popped up. I was waiting on Terri to finish up in the kitchen, so I watched the trailer for the show and immediately became interested.
