If you want to begin a great adventure - you need to take that first step

Last Sunday I was blessed to be able to share my testimony via video at Journey Church,

Ken Husley Story

Do you have that step of faith in you? Ken Husley took step of faith by moving to louisiana from california. Even when it seemed that the move could not happen he kept his faith and God provided a way.

>One very important thing that I forgot to mention was that despite all the financial problems Terri and I had we never stopped tithing. On one occasion we actually tithed all the money we actually had at the time believing in our hearts that God would take care of us ... and He did. We never suffered. We always had food, shelter and the amenities that we needed.

I'm not going to lie, it was hard. Initially I was very reluctant to tithe at all. It took a lot of faith and trust in God to actually give the ten percent of our income. It was a challenge. A big challenge. Ultimately our actions were rewarded. True to His word God was faithful to us when we stepped out and were faithful to God.

In the clip I mention receiving a large sum of money at the exact moment we needed it. That is actually what happened. I can tell you however that the old saying is true, 'money comes and money goes'. The money God blessed us with was spent in the ways it was intended for and we now find ourselves living on faith once again. God is always teaching us about money and faith. Most importantly not to put our faith in money but to fully trust God. This is the real message. Again, we never suffer and our needs are always provided for.

There was a lot of content that didn't make it into the video. It started out with me trying to explain taking a leap of faith using scenes from Empire Strikes Back (Star Wars) and The Last Crusade (Indiana Jones). Perhaps its better for everybody that my ramblings ended up on the cutting room floor so to speak.

Blessings

Blessings: We often forget that everything in life, including life itself, is a blessing from God. As a man of faith I thank God during my daily prayer for all those blessings He has bestowed upon myself and my family. If you ever want to know just how blessed you really are? Just take a few moments to look around you. There are many people who are having a much harder time getting through their daily life than you are. Take time to pray for those people. Even though it may not seem like it to the casual observer, The Lord is taking care of them as well. We live in a world full of distractions. From cell phones to television our daily lives are filled with things that take our minds off our problems as well as God. I urge you to take the time to look around you. There is a beautiful world out there. Instead of watching another cute cat video, watch some children playing, look at a sunset or if you have the means take a walk in the woods. The miracle of God's creation is all around you and is a much more wonderful show than anything on the television or internet. Take every opportunity to disconnect from technology and grow closer to God through enjoyment of his wonders.
