Rams Unveil Underwhelming New Uniforms: Fans Left Disappointed Again!

As a lifelong Rams fan, I, like many others, was really excited this morning for the reveal of the new uniforms for the 2026 season. The announcement that the team would be getting new uniforms and logos came shortly after the Super Bowl, and since then, fans have been eagerly awaiting the team's new look. Many fans had been calling for a return to the classic Rams uniforms from the 80s and 90s, especially since the new rebranded uniforms introduced in 2020 failed to resonate with the fanbase. Initially, it seemed like a return to the "Ferragamo/Dickerson" style uniforms was on the horizon. However, those hopes seemed dashed a couple of months ago when it was revealed that the so-called new uniforms would simply be tweaked versions of the current ones, rather than a brand-new design.

Despite this, I held on to the hope that we were getting a new but retro Rams rebranding. This morning, the team unveiled the new uniforms, and as anticipated, they are largely reworked versions of what we already have. The gradient numbers on the blue uniforms have been replaced by solid yellow, and the Rams' name patches on the left chest are gone. There are now curved horns on the sleeves and a new set of all-white pants. While these changes may be improvements, they are minimal. The tweaks were aimed at addressing some fan complaints about the 2020 rebranded uniforms, but the team overlooked the most significant issue: the broken horns on the helmets. This design is often referred to as the "Two C," "Double Crescent," or "Double Banana." Fans have been advocating for the return of the solid horn design that wraps around the ear hole, resembling an actual ram's horn. Correcting this would have been a simple and welcome change, yet the team chose to ignore it.

So, overall, are the uniforms better? Yes, but only slightly. Now, regarding the new logos, they are also just tweaked versions of the 2020 designs. The team had the opportunity to replace the unappealing "LA" logo with a C-shaped horn design that fans dislike, but instead, they just changed it to a solid yellow color, leading many fans to dub it "mustard." The Rams' head logo was altered by coloring in the eyes and sharpening the ends of the horns. The fan reaction to all these changes has been mostly negative, with many noting that some graphic designer got paid a lot of money for essentially doing very little. In fact, some fans barely noticed any changes at all.

However, all is not lost. Two more alternate uniform designs will be unveiled later this summer, and these are rumored to be throwback designs—possibly featuring the 1950s yellow jersey with white pants and the 1960s "Fearsome Foursome" uniforms in white and blue. These uniforms would likely come with alternate throwback helmets as well. If this is true, these sets could quickly become fan favorites and outsell the newly unveiled designs. Let's hope that the team finally listens to the fans and opts for the classic look we all crave.
